A cutting-edge facility near Schenectady, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Assistant to join its dynamic production team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on experience with advanced thin film processing technologies.Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Assistant will include:
- Assist with daily shift operations related to HTS (High-Temperature Superconductor) manufacturing, testing, and thin film analysis.
- Support the maintenance and assembly of complex equipment, including vacuum systems, sputtering tools, sensors, and electronic controls.
- Follow established protocols for lab safety and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Record and organize detailed test data and observations to support quality control and process optimization.
- Prepare data reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Learn and assist with the development of new process and testing methods under supervision.
- Follow proper chemical handling and waste management procedures.
Job RequirementsQualifications of the Manufacturing Assistant:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial or high-tech manufacturing environments (e.g., semiconductor, electronics, fabrication).
- Strong mechanical skills and basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
