Your Opportunity as the Manager, Packaging Regulatory
Lead our Company’s compliance efforts with U.S. and Canadian Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws and related packaging regulations, including recycled content mandates and chemical bans. Drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality Assurance, Sustainability, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Information Services to build and maintain robust compliance processes.
Location: Working Remote, U.S.A.
Work Arrangements: remote, eastern standard time zone
In this role you will:

Serve as the internal expert on EPR, leading cross-functional efforts to meet state compliance and reporting requirements.

Manage projects related to state EPR compliance and reporting.

Represent the Company in interactions with Producer Responsibility Organizations.

Ensure timely and accurate government registrations and packaging-related reports.

Analyze EPR requirements and packaging materials to guide business decisions.

Collaborate with R&D, Finance, and other stakeholders to shape packaging strategies aligned with legal and regulatory standards.

Partner with Company attorneys to interpret laws and assess business impacts.

Stay current on evolving regulations and their implications.

Lead the development and implementation of business processes that support EPR compliance.

Communicate requirements clearly and support process execution.

Work closely with internal teams to maintain and improve compliance systems.

Support system implementations or upgrades tied to regulatory needs.

Advise on other packaging regulations including recycled content mandates, toxics in packaging, chemical bans, and bottle deposit laws.

Represent the Company in industry trade organizations, contribute to policy positions, and support external engagement.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
-
5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, packaging technology, sustainability, or policy analysis
-
Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects
-
Deep understanding of packaging regulations and EPR laws
-
Strong project management and collaboration skills
-
Experience building and implementing compliance processes
-
Ability to influence priorities and policies across functions
-
Self-starter with independent decision-making capability in complex scenarios
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Knowledge of packaging materials and technologies in the CPG industry

Experience with system implementations
-
Background in public policy or trade association engagement
-
Familiarity with Canadian EPR laws and other packaging regulations
-
Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed
-
Willingness to travel up to 5% annually
