Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Facilities and Projects.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Facilities & Projects, the Manager, Facilities & Projects will be responsible for executing strategic initiatives surrounding the management and maintenance of multiple facilities across Durham Region. This is an opportunity for you to lead a diverse team and to use your business planning and project management skills in a high-impact position.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of front-line managers and maintenance staff, providing guidance and direction to ensure optimal performance in facilities operations.
  • Analyze facilities management experiences and recommend corrective actions and improvement initiatives to the Senior Manager of Facilities and Projects.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department and other departments to establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure efficient workflow while minimizing disruptions to operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate strategic planning activities to support facilities management objectives and ensure effective interfaces with Supply Chain, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable governance, including financial, facilities, and project management areas, and ensure alignment with industry regulations and codes.
  • Oversee the execution of facilities projects, ensuring successful completion through effective preparation of work plans, verification, testing, and commissioning.
  • Maintain communication with functional managers and unions to assess and communicate facilities work program and project progress and maintain positive working relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year University Degree or equivalent experience working in facility management
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facilities management.
  • Previous experience managing large teams and projects, preferably in manufacturing or property management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to facilities management contexts.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset within facilities management.
  • Prior experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost, and quality in facilities projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to provide guidance in facilities management scenarios.
  • Proven ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate facilities objectives and ensure stakeholder requirements are satisfied.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and planning skills relevant to facilities management.
