Learn more about how we deliver excellence for our customers and colleagues at DXC.com.Location: Canada (Remote)Essential Job FunctionsPerform daily storage management activities including SMS routine execution, DASD pool monitoring, and housekeeping batch jobs.Troubleshoot space issues and execute migration and archival functions.Implement storage-related changes such as volume additions or relocations in response to client requests.Troubleshoot and resolve JCL errors.Create and maintain core system backups.Monitor IBM TS7700 grids for performance and health.Follow incident, change, and problem management processes and ensure compliance with standards.Implement new storage solutions and manage SMS spools.Perform and lead disaster recovery (DR) drills, providing direction to team members.Configure Tape and DASD hardware at the device level.Review all storage changes executed by the team through peer review processes.Administer storage software and troubleshoot replication for Tape and DASD.Manage and resolve IBM grid failures across multiple clusters and geographic locations.Lead storage restoration efforts during outages and support 24×7 on-call rotation.Technical ExpertiseStrong experience with z/OS Storage Management and IBM TS7700 grid environments.In-depth knowledge of SMS routines, DASD architecture, and storage replication mechanisms.Proficiency in configuring and managing tape and DASD devices at the hardware level.Experience with storage-related JCL troubleshooting and core system backup strategies.Familiarity with GDPS and its application in high-availability environments.Ability to execute and lead DR drills with confidence and technical authority.Working knowledge of ITIL-based processes (incident, change, problem).Other QualificationsAbility to work independently while providing leadership during restoration and recovery efforts.Strong problem-solving skills in complex storage environments.Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical teams.Willingness to participate in 24×7 on-call support rotations.Detail-oriented approach to peer reviewing storage changes and maintaining documentation.Work EnvironmentRemote opportunity within Canada.May require participation in weekend work or emergency response during outages.Involves on-call responsibilities in a 7×24 rotation.DXC is an equal opportunity employer.
