Compensation for this direct hire opportunity ranges between $33.08-$40.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information!What a Machinist will do:

• Carry through to completion with minimum supervision the machining and fitting of all kinds of metal parts, tools, and machines
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, written specifications, and schematics to properly lay out and perform work
• Set up and operate all available machines and machine tools
• Perform progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements
• Determine operation sequences
• Use skillfully all machinists’ hand tools and determine the machinability of metals to determine proper tooling selection (geometry) and application (fields, speeds)

What you need to be a Machinist:

• In pursuit (full-time or part-time student) of (2) two-year Vocational/Accredited school certificate/degree
• Knowledge of machining practices and techniques, basic mechanical principles and shop mathematics, setups, tooling applications, operating methods, and machinability of materials
• Previous experience, trade skills, and knowledge of machine shop practice
• Working knowledge of programming fundamentals
