We are one of the leaders in the sales of rental and maintenance of Radio Communications and as a result of organisational growth are looking to appoint a Logistics/Hire Operative to join our busy experienced team. Reporting into the Group Stores Manager, you will be based in the Head Office on the Wirral, you will work very closely with the Workshop and the Stores & Logistics Department. Ensuring continuous supply of Hire items and accuracy of Hire inventory stocks, within the workshop and stores. Daily clear and effective communication between both departments and the Hire desk is essential in this role.Full product Training will be provided for the successful candidate.The main purpose of the role is:

  • Ensuring Parts moved are returned, empty boxes are re-sited, shelves are emptied daily, labels are applied to all boxes, and the area looks professional.
  • Ensuring the daily the drivers App despatch screens are followed and maintained to ensure despatches are met.
  • Managing and maintaining the accuracy of Hire Inventory in the stores and workshop, ensuring that weekly counts are published every Monday, to senior management and Syrinx is maintained daily.
  • Managing the returns of incoming hires. Hires are to be dealt with and cleared the same day and passed to the workshop and hire desk team for processing.
  • Daily, cleaning, stripping, maintaining the hire goods within the workshop and returned to the stores so they can be promptly put back into the Hire stores stock
  • Developing the Cleaning SOP’s,
  • Ensuring batteries are on charge and clear any back logs the same day.
  • Communicating with the Workshop Manager the Stores & Logistics Manager and the Hire Desk.
  • PAT testing all items prior to despatch or return from Hire.
  • Identifying slow-and fast-moving Hire stock and reporting these to senior management.
  • Identifying any consumables needed to improve the hire fleet.
  • Reviewing the min /max levels.
  • Looking at future hires, working with the hire desk.
  • Ensuring we have sufficient hire stocks to meet demand and if not highlighting it.
  • Ensuring any bought items are transferred into Syrinx and entered onto the CAPEX spreadsheet as they arrive or are used.
  • Obtaining permission from the Group Ops Manager or Director prior to CAPEX taking place.
  • Helping develop and maintain the use of the battery chargers and how these can help with programming etc.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Effective time management skills and good planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of IT is essential.
  • Good Knowledge of MRP/ERP Computer systems.
  • Knowledge in the use of Excel, Word and Emails.
  • An understanding of ISO procedure and maintenance.
  • Good attention to detail with a commitment to ensuring quality & quantity of output.
  • Flexibility and be able to work in all areas on your own or part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting behaviours as set down in the SFL Employment Handbook.
  • A commitment to your own continued professional development.

It may be an advantage if you had:

  • Previous Telecoms experience.
  • Familiarity with working within a B2B industry predominantly construction.
