Brentford Football Club is developing its loan operations within its Technical Department. The aim is to employ a Loans Analyst to assist the loans management team in the monitoring of our young aspiring loan players whilst also looking at ways to enhance the operations.Main Accountabilities
Video Library Management: Build and maintain a comprehensive video library, ensuring all clips of loan players are banked and readily available on demand.
Content Generation: Arrange and generate content for regular loan player reviews, ensuring that all relevant footage and analysis are accessible for review sessions.
Video Report Production: Create comprehensive video reports for reviews with players and coaching staff, highlighting key performances, strengths, and areas for improvement.
Tailored Analytical Support: Provide direct, tailored analytical support for loan players and relevant staff, focusing on enhancing player development and performance.
Collaboration with Loan Clubs: Work closely with analysts at loan clubs to share information with the Loans Manager, collecting game footage and individual training data or any other information on request.
Data-Driven Insight: Liaise with the Loans Manager to incorporate data in producing insights when considering loan options. Present these insights to key stakeholders to inform decision-making.
Reporting: Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and end-of-season loan reports for management staff. Maintain a database of clubs interested in Brentford FC players.
Detailed Reporting: Provide detailed, data-driven reports to senior management, coaching staff, and the Loan Department to support strategic planning and player development initiatives.
Scoring System Creation: Create a Brentford FC scoring system using analytics to produce data-led performance reports. Maintain a database throughout the season to track player progress.
Data Modelling: Design and implement data models that improve decision-making processes regarding player loans. This includes creating a robust scoring system to inform evidence-based decisions.
Research Projects: Conduct research projects to identify best practices in the loan programme. Develop new and innovative ideas to enhance Brentford FC’s loan strategy.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis techniques to evaluate the performance and potential of loan players. Develop data models to compare these players with current squad members and potential recruitment targets. Data analysis within B team games and 1st team Bounce games for potential loan players. Creating data measures and statistics that can be used to inform potential loan clubs.
Performance Analysis: Support the analysis department with other duties at the request of the Head of Analysis.
Presentation: Develop and maintain relevant information on players that are or could be available for loan by recording all relevant match and training data to support a loan presentation / formation of a loan card.

Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in analysis tools and software (Excel, Tableau).
Experience in creating data models and utilizing statistical analysis to inform decision-making.
Proficiency in video editing software and creating video reports (e.g., Hudl, Wyscout).
Excellent understanding of football tactics, player development, and the loan system.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.Person Specification – Desirable Characteristics
Previous experience working in an analytics role
Familiarity with football data platforms and databases (e.g., Opta, StatsBomb)
