Aplin has partnered with our Edmonton-based client to hire a Litigation Support Paralegal to join a collaborative team supporting multiple practice groups within their firm. Duties + Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize incoming electronic evidence to ensure efficient processing and accessibility.
  • Oversee database administration and provide technical support for eDiscovery platforms, including Casepoint and Eclipse/eCapture.
  • Open, maintain, and update eDiscovery databases as needed.
  • Perform organization, unitization, and loading of records into databases, including coding tasks when required.
  • Edit and manage database load files, ensuring accurate and efficient uploading of electronic records and metadata received from external sources.
  • Export data from eDiscovery platforms, including creating database load files and generating PDF production sets.
  • Collaborate with external entities such as clients, vendors, experts, and law firms to gather information and coordinate related activities.
  • Maintain regular, professional communication with lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Track and record billable time and manage detailed timekeeping.
  • Monitor and manage cloud platform data usage, ensuring resources are utilized effectively.

Qualifications + Skills:

  • 5 years of litigation experience with knowledge of one or more eDiscovery platforms.
  • Advanced computer and technical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation process at all levels of Court.
  • Team player, cooperative, flexible, and professional.
  • Strong attention to detail and superior time management and organizations skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities in a timely manner.
