We are at the centre of the society’s tech strategy and the focal point for our current and future Kubernetes platform.As a MongoDB Database Administrator you will be working in project teams designing, building and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure to provide strong business solutions. You will be involved at all stages from design, build to the support of both non-production and production environments. You can also find out more about our approach to .If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingWorking within the delivery teams you will work collaboratively with others to build the best solutions for Nationwide using your technical leadership skills and SME knowledge to offer advice/consultancy, build systems and work through problems to provide solid working solutions within the Mongo DB space. Providing guidance and direction to less experienced Engineers to help create fit for purpose designs and/or solutions to meet the team objectives.You may be required to work on-call from time to time.About youYou will have a proven track record in providing technical delivery through the design, build and implementation of MongoDB and you will have in depth knowledge & experience of the following:
- Operating system concepts of Linux
- Experience configuring and supporting MongoDB OpsManager for Backups and Deployments and an understanding of MongoDB architecture, replication and sharding. However, Database Engineers with solid demonstrable experience on other RDBMS/NoSQL database technologies such as MSSQL Server, Oracle and DSE Cassandra and Linux will be considered.
- Supporting document based JSON data structures, exporting and importing documents.
- Assisting development and testing teams with troubleshooting within MongoDB or other Databases and tuning performance, application workload and index recommendations.
