Their Charlotte office is expanding, and they’re seeking a passionate Project Engineer to join their innovative Land Development Planning and Design team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team on a wide range of projects—varying in size and complexity—for clients in higher education, healthcare, retail, mixed-use, residential, multifamily, industrial, and hospitality sectors.Responsibilities:

• Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects.
• Complete Due Diligence Reports and preliminary cost estimates for various sites and project types
• Complete work within budget and prior to deadlines
• Lead the development of preliminary layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards and codes
• Utilize, instruct, and delegate application usage for generating project-specific drawings, reports, or other technical deliverables
• Manage quality control procedures and recommend QC process enhancements
• Train and mentor junior staff on technical aspects and policies

Skills & Abilities:

• Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
• Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
• Experience with client and review agency interactions
• Innovative design skills to develop solutions to complex projects
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential

Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
• 5+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects
• PE licensure preferred
• Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, Excel
• Proficient with hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as HydroCad, PondPack, StormCAD and/or Sanitary & Sewer Analysis
• Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
• Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports
