Job description:
The role of the Ambassador Crew Lead is to perform all Lake Tahoe Ambassador duties in addition to overseeing a small team of Ambassadors as a group leader. Additional duties include communicating directly with site leads, mentors, and program supervisors, assisting with participant training, hiring, and scheduling, and performing progress checks on participants at work sites. This position is designed for college students or recent graduates to gain supervisory experience, though some prior team management experience is preferred.
The Lake Tahoe Ambassador Program is a youth stewardship training program. Participants will interact face-to-face with the public, sharing information about Lake Tahoe’s natural environment and ways to protect it. Ambassadors will be stationed at various popular beaches, trailheads, and visitor centers around the lake during peak visitor times, usually Thursday-Monday. In addition, Ambassadors will be trained in related environmental skills, including species identification, trail work, public outreach, and more.

There is currently 1 position available in South Lake Tahoe and 1 in North Lake Tahoe (primarily Tahoe City).
Timeframe/Hours:
Summer work hours are every Thursday-Monday, 9 am-3 pm, until September 1, 2025, with occasional extra hours. Participants must be available for the majority of the summer with no major vacations planned. The time commitment is 24-30 hours per week.
Compensation:
Ambassador Crew Leads earn $22/hour.
