The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Lab The Lab Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance. This role involves coordinating lab activities, maintaining equipment, assisting with patient and provider needs, and managing lab supplies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate’s submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.

- Valid driver’s license required. This requirement may be waived, if necessary, based on overall candidate experience and current needs of the business.

Essential Job Functions
- Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain and service laboratory equipment, including sterilization processes, autoclave oversight, quality control checks, and routine maintenance.
- Manage lab supply inventory, ordering, and restocking across SSHC and satellite clinics.
- Coordinate lab-related clinical workflows, including matching and routing results, supporting dermatology referrals, and assisting the Quest phlebotomist.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and reports, including spore testing documentation, equipment logs, and quality control data.
- Provide collaborative support to providers, MAs, EMTs, and external partners to ensure timely patient care.
- Support onboarding and competency development for satellite staff related to lab processes and sterilization procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation within the EHR and other operational systems as required, maintaining complete and up-to-date records.
- Supports organizational quality and regulatory efforts by attending and participating in assigned committees.
- Manages incoming requests from lab processing vendors, including result clarification, billing inquiries, and documentation needs, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications Summary
- Proficiency with lab equipment, sterilization procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely, efficiently, and in alignment with clinical protocols.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High level of precision in handling lab results and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with clinical staff and external partners.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy competency required, including demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture safely and accurately.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical training.
- Experience in a lab setting or related clinical support role preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.

$20.64 – $24.28 an hour
