We are passionate about the industry and always on the lookout for new talent to join us on our journey…It is an exciting time to join us, as we go through the next stage of this historic York hotel … we are rebrandingDAY IN THE LIFE OF A KITCHEN PORTER AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK?As a Kitchen Porter you will support in the smooth running of the kitchen, from ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleaniness as well as ensuring all equipment is cleaned and ready for each service.WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
- Ensure a pristine and organised kitchen for your team throughout service.
- To distrubute and organise all clean equipment to assigned shelving.
- Responsible for the correct use of detergents and other chemcials.
- Support with deliveries and keep the storeroom in an organised manner.
- Support the chefs in prepping for each service when necessary.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOUWe hire mostly on personaility and potential but here are a few of our requirements …To succeed in the role of Kitchen Porter, you will need the following qaulities and skills:
- Attention to detail
- Positive and approachable manner
- Team player qualities
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, and Food Hygiene Practices (although we can train you on this).
