Our team values trust, respect, collaboration, agility, and quality.About the RoleWe are expanding our team and looking for an experienced full stack developer to join the back-end team behind our ontology and knowledge management platform. This is a unique opportunity to join a small team developing a product with a large user base and high impact for our customers.We are extremely customer focused and work closely with them to ensure the software we build meets their needs. To further this commitment, RELX has implemented the following initiatives:Women in Technology (WiT) Mentoring Program: This program is tailored to enhance career development for female talent in tech roles across all our businesses.Women’s Network Forum: We offer dedicated forums that foster community, mentorship, and professional growth for women.Inspiring Future Talent: We actively engage with schools, hosting events to inspire young females to consider and pursue careers in technology.ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with other Development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designsWriting and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system componentsDeveloping and maintaining the existing user interface and back-end systemsImplementing development processes, coding best practices and code reviewsResolving technical issues as necessaryCompleting bug fixes and resolving technical issuesRequirementsBS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experienceSolid Software development experienceProficiency in Java and the Spring Framework. Experience with Hibernate/JPA, Gradle, Docker is also desirableExperience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Typescript, some experience of React and Vue.js is also desirable)Experience of using RESTful web services, consuming common forms of data such as JSONThe ability to design and build unit-tested, modular code and deploy and run it on local and cloud infrastructureUnderstanding of Agile software development process and unit testing and understanding of SOLID and Clean Coding principlesWork in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
