Within TECH Finance & Risk we are looking for a Chapter Lead SAS Data Engineering to lead our team of top-quality experts. The new chapter lead will be responsible for improving our SAS data engineering workforce, modelling future proof data structures, modernizing our data pipeline & ETL frameworks.

Our ideal candidate is a mixture of an experienced data engineer with a thorough understanding of data integration & (relational) database concepts, near real time data streaming and management experience in our team formation.

- Identify and fulfil IT knowledge gaps within your chapter ensuring that your chapter is qualitatively properly staffed.
- Continuously work on skills improvements, expertise and personal growth of your IT engineers
- Ensure quality and ownership for work delivered via sprints, set and improve standards according to the agile way of working
- Leading role in processes and decisions which are strategic for your chapter, such as the vendor selection, technology selection, offshore strategies
- Align with IT vendors, ING Infra departments and the end users
- Line management tasks such as hiring new employees, assess performance of current employees
- Together with your Engineers: end-responsible for keeping your IT environment up and running, healthy, secure, documented, and standardized where possible
- Together with the Product Owners of the squads and the Chapter Lead of the Business analysts, you balance team development, delivery and timelines
- Member of IT Area and Tribe Leadership team.

- We are looking for a candidate with 8+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
- A senior engineer in SAS technologies (SAS DI studio, SAS base, SAS EG, SAS VA)
- Experience with ETL processes and a good understanding of Data Integration concepts
- Experience with online and/or streaming data integration and pipelines
- Experience with database design, modelling and data analysis
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
- Experience with Linux operating system or other Unix systems
- Experience with CI/CD
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to be able to align with various stakeholders and cross border squads
- Technical leadership skills, able to motivate and advance the data engineering practice and its craftmanship to the next level
- Understanding of Agile – Scrum methodology
- Understanding of Kafka technology and implementations
- Hands-on and pro-active attitude
- Fluent in English
Desirable Certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
