Starting Salary Range: The starting salary for this position will be in the $22.93 – $23.62 range, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position. Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity. 

Location: Flexible in the Southeast Region. Preference to Tennessee and South Carolina.

Status:  Full-Time, Non-/Exempt

Program Summary: 

The Individual Placement Program provides opportunities for individuals to jumpstart their career in conservation through training, hands on experience in the field, and professional development opportunities with public land managers and community organizations.

Position Summary:

The Individual Placements Member Support Coordinator is responsible for implementing effective and efficient administrative support of individual placement cohort programs, recruiting and supporting AmeriCorps Members per year within the Southeast region. The IP Coordinator will work with the IP Program Leadership and other jobshiringnearme.org Legacy staff to provide ongoing support for the IP’s throughout the member “life cycle” from recruitment to exiting to ensure that they leave the program having met their goals, and with tools needed to further their careers in conservation.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a variety of people from different backgrounds and roles, developing relationships and maintaining a high level of professionalism. This position requires the ability to multi-task and problem solve as you will be supporting positions that all vary in type and complexity. As placement sites will be located across the region, occasional travel will be necessary for training, site visits, and events.

Outcomes & Functions of Position:

Recruitment & Outreach

• Serves as the lead recruiter for a portfolio of Individual Placement positions and is responsible for ensuring positions are filled by qualified applicants in a timely manner.
• Promotes positions locally on job boards, social media pages, and other recruiting partners. Strategizes other avenues to reach more applicants.
• Utilizes current recruiting systems and software to track the recruitment process, screen and communicate updates with applicants, interview and make recommendations to partners.
• Attends career fairs at local colleges, high schools, and with partner organizations to share program service opportunities.
• Assist in developing content for social media, newsletter, website and promotional materials.

Participant or Member Management

• Provide ongoing support for a portfolio of IP’s including the development and implementation of orientation and training, conduct and provide check-ins, and member development opportunities.
• Monitor IP start and end dates for proper enrollment and exit paperwork, suspend members, and reinstate them as needed.
• Collect, compile and process all required onboarding and enrollment materials.
• Assist with coordinating timesheet submission and payroll processes for all IPs.
• Assist with the training for credit cards, use of professional development funds, expense reimbursements, and per diem requests for members.
• Assist with Worker’s Compensation training and claims related to IP’s
• Assist with management of current AmeriCorps slot allocations and changes.
• Coordinates intentional ways for IPs to connect with each other through trainings, special events or days of service (MLK Day, AmeriCorps Week, 9/11 Day of Service, etc.)
• Conduct site visits to ensure program quality as time and schedules allow .
• Work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and camping

Program Support and Administration

• Implement effective and efficient administrative systems for recruitment, enrollment, evaluations, exiting, reporting, and marketing.
• Collect and compile information for reports and internal/external news and reports.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and support other SECC and jobshiringnearme.org Legacy staff as appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with program staff to determine the effectiveness of administrative systems and make changes as necessary for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with other staff to identify areas of additional support needed and meet needs as applicable.
• Ability to be flexible and work on different projects.
• Ensure the enforcement of jobshiringnearme.org Legacy, Program, and risk management policies.
• Collect and manage tracking of receipts, expenses, reimbursements, and other basic budgetary needs.
• Participate in regular meetings with internal staff and external partners.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
• Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.
• Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
• Ability to learn and operate multiple systems including, Microsoft Office programs and applications, Salesforce, Axiom systems, Hootsuite, and others.
• Ability to keep others and oneself, in remote locations, accountable to expectations.
• Exhibits the ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of populations
• Exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous programmatic experience with Corps, AmeriCorps, youth serving organization or Federal Agency highly preferred.
• Experience working on a conservation crew, Individual Placements, AmeriCorps, or field based conservation role.
• Strong background in Customer Service.
• Experience in facilitation both virtually and in-person for large meetings and training spaces.
• Experience facilitating teambuilding exercises.
• Prior experience in recruitment is a plus.
• Graphic design skills and familiarity with basic design and presentation platforms such as PowerPoint and Canva.
