PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Technical Training Instructor is responsible for delivering training for their client group as identified in the training plan. They also are responsible to ensure training results are entered into the Learning Management System (LMS).
The Training Instructor is accountable to the Manager, Technical Training and may perform performance assessments and validations, as required.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Schedule, deliver, and support training aligned with business strategies and performance targets for Operations
-
Administer courses, programs, and examinations and identify and revise courses based on policy or procedure changes

Assist in developing training plans and deliver training per curriculum
-
Enter training records into LMS for client groups and address emerging training issues

Provide support for client groups, field managers and new hires
-
Evaluate trainees’ on-the-job performance and maintain confidentiality of classes and employee results
-
Assist operations as a temporary field manager as required

Travel to provide training at remote terminals
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
-
Minimum 4 years’ experience in Mechanical Locomotive department or relevant field
-
Expert in Mechanical and Electrical systems and troubleshooting of all types of locomotives
-
Strong knowledge of railroad operations and safety leadership experience
-
Knowledge of the Instructional Design process and LMS systems; an asset
-
Ability to apply business acumen to responsibilities
-
Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and management skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Valid driver’s license

Management Conductor Program:
