The successful candidate will teach in the College of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. Duties will primarily include teaching, assessment, and coordination in the Pharmaceutical Sciences stream of courses. Responsibilities will consist of lecture content curation, delivery and assessment and creating, implementing, and assessing compounding, pharmaceutics and drug-delivery laboratories. Other teaching-related duties may include facilitating and participating in interprofessional education.

The position also requires service to the College of Pharmacy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, the profession, and the community as appropriate (examples include serving on committees, community outreach, participating in leadership roles).

The successful candidate will possess a BSc (Pharm) or PharmD degree with significant and relevant teaching or practice experience. Preference will be given to applicants with additional MSc or PhD training in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The candidate must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal teamwork skills. The candidate should have a knowledge of common computer software programs and a working knowledge of instrumentation associated with the pharmaceutical sciences area. Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Manitoba would be an asset.

The College of Pharmacy is located in the state-of-the-art 90,000 square foot Apotex Centre on the Bannatyne Campus of the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, which falls within Treaty 1 territory and the Homeland of the Red River Métis. The College is located within a large health sciences campus and collaborates closely with the Colleges of Community and Global Health, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Rehabilitation Sciences, within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS). The College of Pharmacy works closely with Pharmacy organizations in Manitoba and with external partners who support work-integrated learning for students in community, hospital and primary care sites. The College is adjacent to several tertiary care teaching hospitals in Shared Health Manitoba and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) as well as the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM) and Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute CancerCare Manitoba. The RFHS houses the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy which conducts world renowned research on health and social determinants of health and supports the province’s population-based data repository. The RFHS also holds a permanent place for Ongomiizwin – Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing.

The College of Pharmacy has a long history of excellence in pharmacy education and research. It is part of the RFHS at the University of Manitoba and provides opportunities for interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration in health sciences research and education. The University offers a full range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs embracing basic biomedical sciences, professional programs, and population health.
