The Economics and Econometrics stream within the Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a probationary Instructor I or II appointment. The appointment will begin on or after July 1, 2025. The salary and rank for the position will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.

Responsibilities will include teaching (80%) in various modes of delivery and service (20%) to the Department, Faculty, and Universty.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Economics and have demonstrated excellence in teaching, microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics at introductory and advanced undergraduate levels, the economics of crime, industrial organization, labour economics, development economic, public finance and monetary macroeconomics. Experience teaching a variety of advanced undergraduate and graduate courses and teaching a large, diverse student body are considered assets. Familiarization with the University of Manitoba course delivery system is preferred. The rank of Instructor II is normally restricted to those with 5 or more years of experience in a University or equivalent position.
