Position: Industrial Furniture Design Specialist
Location: LaSalle
Salary: Up to $80K + group insurance + 3 weeks of vacation + hybrid work scheduleAre you a creative and detail-oriented professional passionate about furniture design and product development? Join our innovative team in LaSalle as an Industrial Furniture Design Specialist. This role offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will drive the creation and development of exceptional furniture pieces.Key Responsibilities:– Project Management: Oversee multiple key accounts (e.g., Baers, Costco, Homesense, Leons, Amber Interiors) and manage Signature line and Designer projects, ensuring timely launches.
– Global Collaboration: Maintain communication with our China Product Development Office.
– R&D Excellence: Conduct research and development for furniture products.
– 3D Design Creation: Create 3D designs for furniture using Rhino, Modo, and Sketchup software.
– Product Development: Develop, review, and approve all product samples, assembly instructions, and technical drawings.
– Cost Management: Send RFQs (Request for Quote) and create costings.
– VPO Management: Handle Vendor Purchase Order requests and reviews.
– Sample Tracking: Organize and file sample photos to track development.
– Product Approval: Approve reordered furniture pieces and review physical samples at the warehouse, addressing product issues.
– Quality Control: Collaborate with QC teams in Canada, China, and India.
– Customer Service: Respond to customer service inquiries as needed.
– Catalog Oversight: Review catalog data sheets and oversee January/August catalogs.Qualifications:– Experience: Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in furniture design and product development.
– Software Proficiency: Skilled in 3D design software (Rhino, Modo, Sketchup).
– Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
– Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
