Job Title: Phlebotomist IIResponsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
• Follow specific procedures to maintain the integrity of specimens during transport.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
• Float to various client sites and perform blood draws on all patients.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy certification in IL.
• Minimum of 1 year work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Strong newborn/pediatric to geriatric draw experience.
• Reliable means of transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish (nice to have).
• Experience with hard-sticks.

Work EnvironmentThe shift for this role is Monday-Friday, the shift will fall between the hours of 8am-8pm. Rotating Saturdays (every other) from 8am-12:30pm. Mileage reimbursement is provided.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 – $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
