Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Operations and working with a small team, the Human Resources & Operations Specialist provides hands-on support across HR and operations functions to contribute to this workplace of approximately 25 people. This role is responsible for delivering core HR programs and processes across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, health and safety, HRIS management, learning and development, benefits administration, performance management, and leave management, ensuring services are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with legislation and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities
·         Manage the day-to-day delivery of HR services, ensuring timely and consistent execution of HR processes.

·         Act as a first point of contact for HR inquiries.

·         Support and administer HR policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with applicable legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Human Rights Code, Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

·         Support the full cycle of recruitment including working with recruitment partners/vendors.

·         Coordinate onboarding and offboarding to support a positive employee experience.

·         Administer annual performance management program.

·         Maintain HR systems and tracking tools and support HR reporting.

·         Coordinate employee engagement initiatives.

·         Apply a DEI lens across HR processes.

·         Provide operational support to the Director, working closely with the Operations & Administration Coordinator and external partners (e.g. IT, building management, etc.) to support HR and day-to-day operational requirements.

Qualifications
We are seeking an innovative and positive team player with:

·         A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience; CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is an asset

·         5–8 years of progressive human resources experience

·         Experience supporting a range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, leaves management, learning and development, HR policy management, and cyclical HR operations; experience in office operations is an asset

·         Strong knowledge of employment-related legislation

·         Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

·         Strong communication and relationship management skills

·         A high degree of discretion and ability to manage confidential information

·         Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools

·         Experience in the nonprofit or broader public sector is preferred

·         French language competence is an asset

Compensation

The Foundation is a hybrid workplace in downtown Toronto. Staff are required to work in the office a minimum of three days per week. We offer a comprehensive benefits program, including RRSP matching, as well as generous vacation and paid personal time off.

Hiring salary range: $100,000 – $120,000
