We are seeking an HR Recruiter to join our team based in Markham, Ontario. This role is within the non-profit sector and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As an HR Recruiter, you will play a key role in identifying and securing candidates for a range of positions within our organization, from production employees to educators. You will also be involved in the orientation and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new permanent members into the organization.Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the Applicant Track System to manage recruitment processes efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough background checks, including education verification and social media screening.
  • Coordinate and execute high volume recruitment strategies, including headhunting for niche roles.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and internal hiring committees to make employment decisions.
  • Prepare and present employment contracts to selected candidates.
  • Conduct pre-screen interviews and complete scorecards for potential candidates.
  • Organize and conduct daily employee orientations and onboarding sessions.
  • Ensure new permanent member documentation is completed and maintained accurately.
  • Contribute to the HR team by participating in regular cadence.
  • Input new permanent members’ data into the HRIS and ensure payroll paperwork is completed on time.
  • Minimum of 3 years of detail oriented experience in HR recruitment, preferably within the non-profit sector
  • Proficiency in using Applicant Track Systems for managing recruitment processes
  • Experience in conducting thorough background checks on potential candidates
  • Knowledge of benefit functions and ability to manage these effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with candidates and hiring managers
  • Experience in onboarding new employees and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
  • Ability to conduct reference checks to verify candidate’s credentials and suitability for the role
  • Experience in high volume recruitment and ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously
  • Proficiency in conducting new permanent orientations to familiarize new employees with the organization’s culture and policies
  • Experience in using HRIS – Human Resources Info Systems for managing HR data and processes.
