Taking a people-centered approach to business transformation, we use insights to connect brand, content, commerce and experience, underpinned by modern creativity.We’re hiring for a HR Business Partner, Global & EMEA Practices (12 Month FTC) as part of dentsu in London.Purpose of the RoleThe purpose of this role is to provide expert HR and commercial knowledge to partner strategically with the business within Global and EMEA Practices. The role is aligned to the business’ values and business strategy and achieves commercial goals through the delivery and implementation of people strategies.The role will be generalist in nature but have a strong focus on talent development. The role holder will work closely with the Talent Centre of Excellence and act as the subject matter expert within the business partnering team.Key Responsibilities
- HR strategy – support development and delivery of the HR strategy for the designated client groups. Working with colleagues in the HR Centres of Excellence, lead on communication, implementation and measurement of key people initiatives and programmes to support a vibrant, fast paced, and high-performance culture.
- Senior business relationships – build strong relationships with senior Practice leaders and act as a confidante, coach, and constructive challenger. Establish creditability as a valuable business partner through developing a robust understanding of the business direction and landscape. Educate, as appropriate, on how to effectively use Ask People Services and the HR Centres of Excellence. Work with leadership to ensure these are then correctly and effectively utilised. Support senior leaders to be role models who demonstrate strong leadership behaviours and accountabilities, and cascade this through their teams.
- Talent strategy & management – Support senior leaders to attract, develop, motivate, mobilise, and retain the calibre of talent which will drive the business forward. Work in close partnership with the talent team to drive an effective talent planning agenda. Be part of the Talent community champions group and the primary connection between Talent and business partnering. Share updates, insights and plans from the Talent community with other HRBPs. Coordinate and collate nominees for Global learning programmes. Lead talent mapping and succession planning for own client group and project manage this for the wider team. Support global mobility moves in partnership with local markets. Support the onboarding of senior Executives.
- Performance Development – drive an effective approach to performance development through senior leaders, developing a high-performance and effective feedback culture. Lead the Year End Review (YER) process for own client group and project manage this for the wider team. Organise and deliver manager training, with support from HRA and other HRBPs.
- Career Development – Work with our line leaders and the talent team to ensure that engaging career development plans are developed and implemented for our employees. Support the design and delivery of learning and development opportunities with both the business and HR.
- Reward – Lead the Annual Salary Review and Incentives process for own client group. Ensure the correct Reward governance is followed for new hires, salary changes and promotions. Partner with the Reward team on job evaluation and salary benchmarking.
- Business Management – have a clear understanding of the organisational capabilities and how best to develop these through the HR strategy. Develop a robust understanding of business financial performance and commercials. Provide inputs to the budget and planning process as needed.
- Change Management – lead and advise senior leaders on key organisational people change management initiatives and reorganisations. Supports the HRD in change of organisation design and large-scale business transformation, as needed.
- Employee Engagement – drive accountability and commitment to employee engagement through senior leaders, leveraging insight from data such as the Check In survey. Acts as a support and advisor.
- Diversity – champions and delivers on creating a more diverse workplace by promoting initiatives, ways of working and behaviours which will drive change. Ensures leaders are accountable for role modelling inclusive leadership and are actively embedding the diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda
- Employee Relations – advise leaders on and resolve key employee issues which might pose a significant risk to the business and organisation in own business area. Where necessary lead redundancy consultations, business restructuring and TUPE (inbound and outbound).
- Data and insight – utilise data and insight to support leaders, drive informed decision making and as a measure of output and initiatives
- Imbedding and enabling the HR Operating model – ensures that the bulk of HR investment is focused on high value activities, which provides a strategic benefit to the Practices. Supports leaders and their teams to effectively access the right HR support from the right places, ensures operational HR work is directed accordingly, promotes, and encourages self-service.
Qualifications + Skills
- A strong track record of leading across the full spectrum of HR activities including talent, performance, development, change management, employee relations and reward.
- Solid experience and a passion for talent development and learning, and a willingness to be the subject matter expert on these areas within the business partnering team.
- An ability to drive the strategic HR agenda with senior leaders, drawing on Centres of Excellence where required and educating the senior leadership team on how to effectively utilise the centres of excellence and what the various touchpoints are.
- A proven ability to build effective senior level relationships and to be a trusted advisor and confidante. Able to facilitate, persuade and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to create and deliver complex HR project plans, ensuring governance and delivery to agreed timescales across various HR and business stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative and able to work across the matrix with different teams in different geographical locations.
- Understanding of the cultural differences in ways of working and the ability to coach senior leader leaders to adapt their style to engage and motivate their team positively across all geographies.
- Business and commercial acumen.
- Strong employment law knowledge and an ability to identify, assess and advise on risks at both a company and individual level.
- Strong data orientation, analytical, interpretative – able to translate people analytics into valuable business insight.
- To be flexible, resilience, adaptable and able to work in complex and ambiguous situations.
