He/She is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating people and labor relations strategies, including policies, programs and procedures to meet the human resources needs of the organization.Essential Duties

  • Advise and support managers and employees on human resources issues, including policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the administration of benefits and terms and conditions of employment
  • Address and manage labour disputes and provide advice on employee relations and labour relations
  • Administer employee files: hiring, absenteeism, probation, performance, etc.
  • Greet new employees, explain human resources policies and procedures and benefits in effect
  • Participate in the implementation and development of various human resources programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the recruitment and job change process – internal promotion.
  • Participate in staffing processes when required.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date job descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Respect, understand and promote company regulations and policies, particularly in the area of health and safety.
  • Develop work methods and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the work team. Respect, know and promote company regulations and policies, particularly in terms of health and safety
  • Develop work methods and procedures to improve team effectiveness and efficiency
  • All tasks related to the performance of duties

Training & Experience

  • University degree in human resources or combination of relevant education and experience
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in the mining or industrial sector
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite, basic knowledge of SAP
  • Bilingualism essential (French, English)

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days of rest
  • Eleonore Mine Site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D’Or and Wemindji)
