Pay: $23 per hour plus benefits and weekly pay via direct deposit
Caseload Information: 4th grade female student Joubert’s Syndrome with ataxia. The most common features are lack of muscle control (ataxia), Student will exhibit some aggressive behavior when frustrated. She might swing her hands around when frustrated about her schoolwork. This can also be due to Lack of muscle control. history of seizures, shrimp allergy and wheelchair bound. Will need assistance with balance when using a walker. Transfer from wheelchair to walker and walker to desk. Need support with toileting need assistance with holding her hand during writing activities, per mom student requires hand over hand support. At times, the chrome book needs to be adjusted/moved/ repositioned so that the student has access to it. Has mild behavior issues. Need a mature and seasoned candidate. Per the Physical Therapist, Cataleya does not need to be lifted into her equipment since she is able to assist with her walking and transfers. Cataleya just needs a lot of cueing for safety due to her wanting to go too fast, getting overly excited, or not watching where she is going; she does not always have control of her body. The CNA needs to stay within close proximity of Cataleya at ALL TIMES to ensure that she doesn’t trip and fall, especially since the campus has an uneven pavement. In the past the CNAs have not been close to her, they sit and Cataleya is on the other side of the playground. Also, the PT and nurse will meet with the CNA to train her/him on transfers, safety procedures and provide pertinent information. School site: Cesar Chavez Elementary School Address: 6139 Loveland St, Bell Gardens, CA 90201 Grade Level(s): Elementary***For this assignment, we will offer CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training to CNAs. The candidate must be willing to obtain this training. The training is provided by CCE, and part of it will be in-person at the Woodland Hills office. Please ensure the candidate is aware of this requirement and is willing to participate.
