Clinical & Forensic Toxicology TechnicianThis position is an excellent entry-level opportunity to work with the #1 hospital in the world.Job DescriptionThe Clinical & Forensic Toxicology Technician performs immunoassay screening as well as confirmatory and targeted screening analyses. Confirmatory testing is performed on both gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) platforms. The role involves utilizing solid phase extraction (SPE), supported liquid extraction (SLE), liquid-liquid extraction (LLE), and dilute-and-shoot for sample preparation. Additional sample preparations may involve protein crash or hydrolysis pre-treatments depending on the analytes in question. Targeted screening assays are dilute-and-shoot assays running on LC-MS/MS platforms with high resolution accurate mass (HRAM) analyzers.Responsibilities

• Perform immunoassay screening
• Conduct confirmatory and targeted screening analyses
• Utilize GC-MS and LC-MS/MS platforms for confirmatory testing
• Prepare samples using SPE, SLE, LLE, and dilute-and-shoot techniques
• Conduct protein crash or hydrolysis pre-treatments for specific analytes
• Run targeted screening assays on LC-MS/MS platforms with HRAM analyzers
• Test for drugs of abuse, including illegal and legal substances
• Perform Chain of Custody testing
• Handle matrices including urine, meconium, oral fluids, serum, and whole blood
• Work primarily on 1st and 2nd shifts, with 3rd shift ensuring instruments run overnight

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience)
• Experience in laboratory and/or medical laboratory testing
• Instrumentation experience and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of chemistry and biology

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Healthcare background is a plus
• Will accept Master’s degree

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 – $25.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
