Job Description:The Rodeway Inn is located in scenic Lake Placid, welcoming both business and leisure travelers near New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. Our property combines the amenities and comfort travelers expect from the Rodeway brand with a boutique hotel experience in majestic Essex County.As we move into our winter season, we are searching for a General Manager to join our team of professionals. Our ideal candidate will bring an extensive customer service background, in addition to at least five years of hospitality experience, preferably in a hotel management role. The GM leads all aspects of the property, seeking to achieve excellence and collaboration with each department by interviewing, hiring, and training staff, assigning work, creating schedules, and offering coaching and counseling when needed. - Design a budget that guarantees customer satisfaction and quality of services while keeping expenses controlled and profit margins maximized
- Collaborate with hotel department leaders to define goals and objectives that are compatible with the overall hotel goals, as well as strategies for achieving them
- Provide the vision, leadership, and strategy that inspires your staff to deliver exceptional guest service that drives financial success
- Enhance the hotel’s reputation for quality by inspecting the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms, public areas, and surrounding grounds
- Construct and manage a straightforward and effective marketing strategy to promote the hotel’s services and amenities
Successful Candidates Must:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent GED; degree in hospitality or related field of study preferred
- Five years of experience in the hospitality field preferred
- Previous experience as a hotel manager, assistant manager, or hotel department manager required
- Strong focus on putting the guest first with exceptional customer service experience
- Exhibit exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
