Our Georgia-Pacific, Gypsum plant located in Sweetwater, TX is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians, General Maintenance Technicians or Electrical E&I Technicians. The maintenance team helps ensure the successful operation of the facility by resolving mechanical and/or electrical issues, recommending alternative repairs and equipment upgrades, identifying quality concerns, setting equipment in a precision state, and understanding the production threshold of the equipment.This posting will be used to fill roles within our maintenance team such as, mechanical technicians, multi-craft and electrical positions. • Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and circuits
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals and manufacturers specifications. Equipment includes but is not limited to: motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems and production machines
• Perform periodic proactive asset strategies, such as maintenance routes, preventative maintenance, and other tasks to improve reliability and uptime
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventive maintenance findings
• Maintain and improve the reliability of all plant equipment through the use of the MP2 work order system and repair records.
• Work with the operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
• Help meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program
• Assist in the development and implementation of reliability/ precision centered maintenance strategies
• Apply problem solving methods to identify the root cause and eliminate failure
• Based upon business need must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

Mechanic Focus Overview

• Use pipefitting skills to weld, cut, fit and install piping throughout the facility
• Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, circuits, and components

Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technicians Overview

• Install equipment at the component level while adhering to all state and plant codes, policies, and procedures.
• Respond to plant electrical and maintenance issues.
• Training and continuous development of knowledge in the use of PLC programming and software.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• One (1) year or more of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, agriculture, oil & gas, or military environment
• Experience utilizing and interpreting equipment drawings/schematics such as electrical schematics & mechanical drawings

What Will Put You Ahead

• Two (2) years of electrical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
• Two (2) year degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology
