Job Title: Medical TechnologistJob DescriptionThe Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned. The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station to which they are assigned. Specifically working in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts.Job Duties:– Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage– Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results– Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician– Document all results in the LISHard Skills

• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
• Hematology experience
• Urinalysis
• Coagulation
• Reading differentials

Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Brooklyn, New York.Work EnvironmentHospital medical laboratory in Brooklyn, NY. Departments include Micro, blood bank, general lab, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urology. This position is working in the general lab, reporting to the Operations Manager. Evening shift, 4pm-12am with rotating weekends.
