We are looking for a driven, dedicated, and professional individual to join our fast paced and growing plant department as a Hire Controller. Your role will be to assist with all aspects of Plant management ensuring best costs and practice is achieved.Our organisation has a considerable investment in plant and is the largest contracting purchaser of Hitachi plant in the UK. A solid workforce and modern plant allow the business to deliver work to a high standard that has been well recognised by clients. The company operates a 3-year replenishment cycle policy and purchases additional items to facilitate the demanding workload. All plant is subject to a planned preventative maintenance schedule and we pride ourselves on the high standard of our plant, with presentation for the business and clients being key. By owning and maintaining our own plant we can ensure we have the best and safest equipment without being reliant on external plant hire. Our fleet consists of excavators, dumpers, commercial vehicles, and cars with a combined fleet holding a figure of £40m.This is an exciting opportunity for someone with current experience to join a company that can offer further development and progression enabling you to reach your full potential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Supply site requirements as necessary and in line with times / dates requested.
• Availability of own Plant to be checked prior to all hires where applicable.
• Using best cost option available to fulfil order.
• Take ownership of issues and ensure closed out.
• Feedback to site on timings / equipment where necessary.
• Replacement of hired plant with own fleet where / when feasible.
• Attention to and agreement of damage and loss charges in conjunction with Plant Manager.
• Awareness of new products and services.
• Supplier management – ensure that all are following company requirements and adhering with our strict quality and Health and Safety procedures.
• Manage and keep on top of queries when necessary.

Requirements:

• Good working knowledge of Plant.
• Experience with hiring of plant, controlling the movement of plant and haulage.

Expected salary

£29000 per year
