Description:OUR VALUES IN ACTIONCare and Compassion Quality and Teamwork Dignity and Respect Openness, honesty and responsibilityFollowing a successful bid to be a Scottish Government Demonstrator site, we are delighted to expand our offering in Pharmacotherapy to incorporate a new team for high-risk medicine monitoring at NHS Borders. The Pharmacy Department at NHS Borders is seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to lead on delivery of a new high risk medicines monitoring service. The post holder will work in the primary care pharmacy team to lead on shared care of high-risk medicines and will interface with secondary care specialist teams to ensure best care is delivered to patients close to home.The post holder should have relevant experience in primary and / or secondary care with good clinical background and have obtained an independent prescribing qualification. The post holder will provide expert advice on medicines to both patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure the use of medicines are both cost effective and meet the needs of the patients.Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am 5pm but we are open to consideration of part time and flexible working requests for this full-time post.For any queries, please contact Mairi Struthers (mairi.struthers@borders.scot.nhs.uk)***PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early***NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
