These specialist teams manage the Heritage at Risk Register, distribute grants, undertake research, and contribute to place-shaping work across the Region. They work with stakeholders and communities to find creative solutions to heritage at risk and bring about the regeneration of places by using their expertise in architectural history, project management, community engagement, fundraising, and conservation.HARPOs provide expert advice on the planning, funding and delivery of heritage at risk projects across the range of asset types in the London & SE Region; this post has a specific focus on rural Scheduled Monuments outside of London. Applying the ‘constructive conservation’ ethos they work closely with owners, local authorities and partner agencies, and with local communities and other stakeholders, to negotiate effective projects, identify funding and facilitate consents. They report on project progress, update the Heritage at Risk (HAR) Register, and contribute to public promotion of heritage at risk cases and themes. HARPOs work with our HAR Architects/Surveyors in overseeing complex HAR Repair Grant funded projects, and lead on Capacity Building grants to stakeholder organisations.What we are looking for
Please note that:The role requires very occasional travel to sites not serviced by public transport.
