Heavy Equipment Operator AGS Crane

Salary Range: $32-$40/hr

Rainbow Treecare (a division of Rainbow Companies) is seeking an energetic and hard-working individual to join our team as an Articulating Grapple Saw Crane Operator.  This is a full-time, weekday position with overtime available. Your work location will be out of one of our three locations in either Minnetonka, Little Canada, or Burnsville.

What You Will Do:

• Safely drive and operate trucks and cranes of up to 72,000 lbs. GVW for the Pruning Division of Rainbow Tree Company as well as our grapple loader.
• Understanding of the hazards of working with storm damaged trees and performing removals using heavy equipment such as cranes.
• Knowledge of daily tree care operations both on the ground and aloft.
• Report to the general foreperson on training and safety needs or any other issue regarding the well-being of crew members.
• Work always with a high regard for the safety of self and others, following all necessary safety procedures and using required safety equipment.
• Perform manual labor including loading and unloading trucks and working with maintenance and forestry crews outside of the truck.
• Perform and foster an environment of safe work practices and report safety issues promptly to appropriate staff.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated professional tree climbing experience
• Class D license and commitment to safe driving
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of field and operating equipment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional tree climbing and equipment operating experience
• CPR and First Aid certification achieved within six (6) months of hire
• Hydraulic, forklift experience a plus
• Class A combination with air brake license

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is performed outdoors in any weather element throughout urban and rural areas. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and hazardous tools and equipment; during which safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time.
