This is a high-impact role where you’ll be the key driver of regulatory compliance and safety excellence, working closely with both site and regional leadership. You’ll help shape and implement Steelcase’s HSE strategy and standards at plant level, ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment for everyone. You will report directly to the Site Manager with a functional link to the HSE Manager EMEA, working closely with site departments, external safety organizations, external service providers and contractors.Who You Are:You are a strategic and detail-oriented HSE professional with a strong grasp of regulations and a passion for fostering a safety-first culture. With solid technical knowledge and a proactive mindset, you’re confident navigating regulatory bodies and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in HSE or equivalent with proven significant experience in industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of applicable HSE regulations and compliance practices
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and implement risk analysis and corrective actions
  • Good knowledge of project management techniques

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing and coaching direct reports but also demonstrated informal leadership
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to interact with local authorities and regulatory bodies

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure the site’s compliance with HSE regulations and the Steelcase Group HSE strategy
  • Monitor evolving regulations, identify gaps, and recommend action plans to site leadership
  • Maintain relationships with authorities, oversee inspections, and ensure proper documentation
  • Lead the update and deployment of risk assessments, environmental analyses, and emergency plans
  • Provide operational support and training to managers and employees to uphold HSE standards
