  • These Health Improvement Practitioner roles are hybrid working, with

contractual work-base at an agreed Somerset Council location. * We have 2 posts available and welcome job-share and part-time applications.

  • These roles will work within our Somerset Smokefree Service to develop

innovative approaches to help people quit smoking including the use of vapes. * You will also develop new partner relationships to reach targeted groups inworkplaces and community settings. * These are 3 year fixed term appointments.We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Working as part of a multi-Disciplinary team to help Somerset residents

and families achieve healthier lifestyles. * Providing ‘light touch’ support and advice to smokers who wish to quitincluding advice and guidance in the selection of vaping devices. * Identify and build relationships with partners who can help us to reachgroups with high smoking prevalence.We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Can communicate with a wide range of people both in 1:1 and group

settings. * Build relationships with community partners to help us reachcommunities experiencing health inequalities. * Have experience of managing a caseload and maintaining conciserecords. * Have a motivational interviewing qualification and / or experience.

  • Access to/use of a vehicle is an essential requirement for this post
