In this pivotal role, you’ll drive organizational culture, talent development, and employee engagement while fostering an environment of excellence and care across our network of franchise owners in the UK.Caremark Ltd is a wholly UK-owned and operated home care franchise with an established and successful UK-based network.Summary of the roleAs the Head of People, you will be responsible for leading the overall people strategy for the organization, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and leadership development. You will partner closely with franchise owners and internal stakeholders to align our HR practices with the company’s mission and values. This role is both strategic and operational, requiring a proactive leader who can enhance our HR function while maintaining an exceptional employee experience across the board.Responsibilities:Talent Strategy and Development:· Shape and implement the company’s talent strategy to attract, develop, and retain top talent across the organization and franchise network.· Lead the creation of job descriptions aligned with strategic business needs and ensure successful hiring processes.· Oversee employee onboarding, ensuring new hires are embedded in Caremark’s culture from day one.· Drive leadership development programs to enhance the capabilities of managers and future leaders.Employee Experience and Engagement:· Lead efforts to enhance employee engagement, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, performance, and retention.· Oversee the Annual Happiness Survey and Employee of the Quarter program, using feedback to shape engagement initiatives.· Manage international recruitment efforts and diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster a thriving, diverse workplace.People Operations and Culture:· Lead the transformation of the HR function from a transactional to a strategic, people-centric operation, contributing to the growth of Caremark’s overall business strategy.· Act as a key HR Business Partner to support managers and franchise owners in navigating complex HR issues.· Ensure compliance with employment laws and effective management of employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.Policy and Compliance Leadership:· Drive the update of HR policies and procedures to ensure they align with best practices and legal requirements.· Oversee training programs for franchisees, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage HR functions within their businesses.· Partner with the Director of Compliance to handle sensitive employee and carer grievances while maintaining confidentiality.Office and Operations Management:· Ensure the smooth running of the head office, providing leadership in office management, administrative support, and executive coordination.· Supervise the office team, ensuring a well-functioning work environment, while handling executive-level communications and travel arrangements.Experience· Proven experience as a Head of People, HR Director, or senior HR leader in a fast-paced environment.· Strong expertise in strategic HR management, including talent strategy, leadership development, and employee engagement.· Experience with employee relations, policy development, and overseeing people operations.· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.· Strong understanding of HR software and data-driven HR strategies.· Experience in the franchise industry would be highly beneficial.This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR leader ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing organisation.
