We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.The role:Reporting to the Head of Marketing Services and operating within the Group Brand & Marketing department, the Head of Media Planning & Buying will develop and lead the operational management of all aspects of our approach to media buying, across the group (specifically focused on Standard Life and Phoenix Group brands).Working with our media agency partners, the successful candidate will ensure we are buying effectively to reach our target audiences to drive both commercial and brand outcomes, alongside demonstrating effectiveness in media selection and deployment.The role is pivotal in maximizing the profitable retention and acquisition of new customers and clients across our B2C and B2B marketplaces, while generating sales from existing audiences through the full mix of media channels both on and offline, with a specific focus on media activations for the Standard Life business, alongside supporting Phoenix Group brand activityKey responsibilities include:

  • Implement the media strategy and advertising for our Standard Life brand across both our B2C and B2B customer and client audiences.
  • Drive the planning, creation, and optimisation of media campaign performance for both our Standard Life and Phoenix Group brand activity.
  • Utilise first party customer and product data to personalise campaigns to improve channel performance.
  • Work with stakeholders to optimise creative and effectiveness across channels, to improve customer and client engagement with and purchases from advertising.
  • Leads cross channel reporting to inform key stakeholders in order to optimise future activity and improve budget allocation decisions.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in managing large and complex integrated media campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience of managing budgets of £10m+.
  • Results orientated, highly focused on hitting business targets and profitable sales growth.
  • Expert level experience ideally within core digital platforms with hands-on experience (i.e. digital, social and search) with a strong working knowledge of the larger media landscape
  • Strong ability to think strategically across all channels is key – media partnerships, TV, and all forms of digital advertising including PPC, social, programmatic, CTV, digital direct, DOOH, are all critical.
  • Extensive media planning and buying experience, having worked across both client and agency side.
