Job Title: Head Chef
Location: Rural Hospitality Venue, Snowdonia, Wales
Salary: Up to £42,000 (Negotiable based on experience)
Accommodation: Available on-site (self-contained)
Hours: Wednesday – Sunday afternoons (No breakfast shifts)About the VenueA charming and characterful hospitality venue set in the stunning landscapes of Snowdonia, offering a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Known for its warm hospitality and high-quality, locally inspired cuisine, the kitchen delivers hearty, traditional dishes with a modern twist.The RoleWe are looking for a passionate and hands-on Head Chef to lead a small but efficient kitchen team. You will be responsible for running the kitchen, designing menus, and maintaining high culinary standards. This is a unique opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in an independent setting, values teamwork, and is willing to adapt to an established but evolving kitchen environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the kitchen, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.Create seasonal menus that reflect local produce and guest preferences.Work collaboratively with the assistant chef to deliver high-quality dishes.Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimizing waste.Foster a positive working environment and encourage professional development.Assist in the transition period with the outgoing Head Chef to ensure a smooth handover.What We’re Looking ForA chef with a strong background in professional kitchens.Passion for creating delicious, well-presented dishes with local ingredients.Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the kitchen.Strong leadership and communication skills.Open to learning and adapting to the unique environment of the venue.Ideally, a driver due to the rural location (though transport links are available).What We OfferA competitive salary up to £42,000 (negotiable depending on experience).28 days of holiday, plus your birthday off.One week off every March for renovations.Christmas and Boxing Day off.A self-contained on-site accommodation option with private entrance.Supportive management and a friendly working environment.A chance to live and work in the picturesque Snowdonia region.The current Head Chef will be leaving at the end of May, so we are looking for someone who can ideally start as soon as possible to allow for a smooth transition.
