They will be a key member of the account senior team, ensuring collaborative behaviours and dynamic operations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.The Global Engineering Director will:

  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction, establishing and managing the service delivery teams, and ensuring consistency in process, systems, and reporting.
  • Ensure the efficient and consistent operation of all Facility Engineering activities to meet contractual obligations and KPIs.
  • Work with the Transformation and Strategy lead to realise our vision for dynamic operations and ensure any transformation activities are successfully implemented.
  • Be sustainability focused, working with the Sustainability lead to identify and implement energy saving initiatives and help realise the client’s sustainability ambitions.
  • Connect with the engineering platform, pushing the account to the forefront of operational delivery.
  • Support the account wide objective to be a destination for talent, actively network, support our rising stars, recognise great work and nurture our succession plan.

Core CompetenciesFinancial and Commercial Management

  • Manage financials, meeting agreed financial targets to include revenue, expenses, savings, and aged debtors.
  • Accountable for the financial management of engineering work; including ensuring approvals are in place, purchase orders are well managed, and invoicing is timely.
  • Ensure compliance with the change control process and other financial procedures.
  • Ensure MSA & KPI assurance, local legislation compliance, implementation of corporate initiatives, implementation and evidencing of training and procedure to ISO9001 standard.
  • Work with the BI and Governance teams to develop insightful reporting across portfolio to the satisfaction of the JLL and Client reporting requirements.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure engineering services are 100% certified by the recognised external governing organisation where appropriate to do so in addition to JLL JCAP process.
  • Be responsible for management of colleagues involved in the delivery of engineering services (e.g. recruitment, ethics, performance assessment, personal development, personal wellbeing) in line with our ambition to be a destination for talent.
  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of training plans to enhance and develop the skills of technicians to ensure they remain competent to carry out their assigned duties and reduce our reliance on sub-contractors.
  • Prepare and implement a succession plan for key positions of direct and in-direct reports.
  • Work with colleagues to implement technology systems to support services delivery, including required reporting.
  • Support the development and ensure effective implementation of standard operating and maintenance procedures & processes for the account.
  • Drive an ‘always on transformation’ culture in respect to operational delivery.
  • Drive the implementation of CAR insights and LCAM.
  • Provide accurate data and operational knowledge to drive operational improvements through root cause failure analysis, predictive failure mode, and mean time to failure trending.
  • Evaluate, propose & pilot appropriate tools/processes to support the engineering operation.
  • Work with the Transformation Lead to develop feasibility case studies and a transformation roadmap for engineering

Client and Account Management

  • Build and maintain great relationships with key stakeholders in the client’s organisation. Demonstrating our value and global best practices
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding on the client’s business and key factors influencing their requirements for our services.
  • Ensure Client surveys are conducted and co-ordinate client feedback follow-up program.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree (or equivalent), qualified in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical/Electrical/Building Systems Engineering).
  • Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH) considered beneficial
