The Sentinel Systems Directorate faces a challenge that the U.S. has never encountered before – reconstituting a nuclear weapons production capability without nuclear explosive testing.RANGE OF DUTIES (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE):

QualificationsFor additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click .To qualify as an engineer, employee must meet the education and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions:Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management “Practitioner” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking Multi-Disciplinary Engineers in the skill areas listed below towork at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.
Occupational Series 0830 – MECHANICAL ENGINEER: Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering degree.
Occupational Series 0855 – ELECTRONICS ENGINEER: Typically, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree.
Occupational Series 0861 – AEROSPACE ENGINEER: Aerospace Engineering degree.
Occupational Series 0806 – MATERIALS ENGINEER: Materials Engineering degree.
Occupational Series 0810 – CIVIL ENGINEER: Civil Engineering degree.
Occupational Series 0801 – SYSTEMS ENGINEER: Industrial & Systems or Aerospace & Systems Engineering degrees.
NOTE: The AFNWC has interdisciplinary teams and therefore seeks top talent from multiple engineering disciplines.
