Job description
Cedar is partnering with a leading transport services business looking to hire a Senior Group Accountant. The business operates across multiple locations with a turnover of £350m and a workforce of 3,500.Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Accountant to join their dynamic finance team, where you will report to the Financial Controller and take full responsibility for financial reporting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the Financial Accounting function for a multi-entity business with £350m turnover.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in line with FRS 101 accounting standards.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify financial discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Assist with monthly balance sheet and cash flow preparation.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing financial data.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and controls.
- Contribute to strategic projects, including M&A activity and system upgrades.
Skills & Experience Required:
- ACA or ACCA qualification with 2+ years PQE.
- Ideal first move from practice into industry.
- Experience with financial software such as SAP or Agresso.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a strong analytical mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
