By having everyone on campus together, we have been able to nurture a fantastic social and dynamic environment.About the Role:The Finance Director (FD) for Canada will report to the VP of Finance, Americas with a strong dotted lined to the Managing Director (MD), Canada. The FD is responsible for the entire Dyson Canada P&L and will partner with the Canadian Leadership Team to drive profitable growth through rigorous investment analysis, discerning cost and working capital management and sound financial guidance to the organization on key business decisions. He/she will continue to build a world class finance team to ensure that the Canadian market is able to achieve the business goals and Dyson’s ambition. The Finance Director will work closely with Finance partners, based in the Americas region and Dyson Business Service (DBS).Financial stewardship of Canadian businessEnhance profitability through robust financial control and reportingProvide guidance to commercial decision areas of the business through robust analysis, at both a strategic and operational levelContinuously improve investment appraisal process / techniques across all investment types to ensure Dyson generates highest return possibleInput into formulation of Canadian strategy via strong historical financial analyses and monitoring the impact of latest trends on financial resultsIdentify and lead cost savings opportunities to increase bottom line profitabilityChampion the Dyson finance strategy core pillars of integrity and commercial success throughout the Canadian businessKeep Dyson Canada in adherence to all local regulations and requirements including statutory financial reporting, local taxes, etc.Hold internal shared service providers accountable for their performance to SLAsImprove Canada working capital leveraging all leversManage Accounts Receivable relationships with Retailers ensuring revenue is maximized whilst risk is eliminatedBusiness Partner with the various departments including the Canada Managing Director, Leadership Team, Regional and Global Finance TeamsCreate strong working relationships both cross functionally and at all levels of management team within Canada and across Dyson regionally and globallyPartner with Sales, Marketing and Operations peers in Canada to improve operational efficiency and cross functional ways of workingChallenge current methods and provide innovative solutions to drive efficiencies and increase profitabilitySupport the Canada MD and Leadership team to achieve the best Commercial decisions to drive the sustainable and profitable growthPartner with DBS, Regional Finance, Global Finance and DBS to deliver expected performance and implement global initiatives in CanadaManagement and Reporting of Americas Financial PerformanceProvide accurate monthly reporting of performance detailing variances from budget and targetContinual improvement of P&L and KPI Reporting (financial and non-financial)Evolve business reporting – moving towards real time data to enable faster and more accurate decision makingOwn budget and forecast process to ensure risks and opportunities are identified and understood, through review and challenge of commercial managersOwn cash related metrics and working capitalDevelop and coach members of the Canadian Finance TeamLead and motivate the finance team to ensure their potential is maximizedCoach, develop and lead direct reports in all areas of people managementContinuously improve the finance organization to meet the agility required of a fast-paced organizationIncrease Finance’s involvement in decision making within the functional areas for which they are responsibleFulfill other duties as requiredRelish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the roleFix things that you can see need fixingAbout You:Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance with strong financial analysis experience and full P&L ownershipBS/BA required; MBA or CPA/CMA preferredPrior experience with a technology or high-end consumer products company is preferredStrong knowledge of modeling/forecasting, business planning, budgeting, management reportingMethodical / driver-based business planning capabilityStrong reputation for objectivity and seasoned business judgmentAbility to earn trust and confidence of business partners; positive attitude and strong team playerPrevious experience managing multiple initiatives and changing prioritiesAbility to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organizationAbility to understand and create value from data analytics to impact the businessAbility to clearly present and communicate complex data analysisPrior leadership roles with ability to develop teamsStrong attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated previous success in a fast paced and agile environmentBenefits:At Dyson, how we reward you is linked to our high-performance culture.
