Our people work across a matrix organisation and the finance department sits in Corporate Services; a core support function across Europe. This enables the finance department to work closely together as a team, supporting the business in the most effective manner possible.The finance team has responsibility for maintaining the financial records of the business, ensuring appropriate controls and governance measures are in place to minimise risk as well as providing in depth managing reporting and analytics to drive business decisions. The finance team work closely with Cox Automotive US to provide financial and management information as well as alignment of policies and controls.Further, the Finance team is core to the delivery of strategic change, providing support and challenge through business partnering with all of the business units and functions in the group.Objectives for the role:
- You will be a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Reporting and Accounting Specialist to support our Retail Solutions businesses and Technology function.
- This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Retail Solutions and Technology divisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial targets.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Quarterly Audit Files: Prepare quarterly audit files to support internal and external audit processes.
- Internal Capitalisation: Manage internal capitalisation in line with accounting standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and accounting operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales, and Operations, to support financial planning and analysis.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis as required by senior management.
Skills & Experience:
- Education: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role focused on financial control and reporting, ideally within a technology business.
- Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems). Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
