We are the Benton Soil & Water jobshiringnearme.org District (BSWCD), located in Corvallis, Oregon.
Our mission is to engage Benton County residents in the conservation and stewardship of natural resources for current and future generations. We have an opportunity for an Executive Director to inspire, motivate, and align our staff and board toward common goals in fulfillment of the District’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
Our District
BSWCD has been growing relationships between people and place since 1956! We are a Special District governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors. Our small staff (7 FTEs) engage Benton County residents in the conservation and stewardship of natural resources by providing educational, technical, and/or financial assistance.
Overarching themes for our strategic direction through 2027 are climate, targeted community impact, equity, and collaborative leadership. The District’s annual operating budget is approximately $1.3 million dollars. We work with a diverse array of dedicated and enthusiastic partner organizations, land managers, and volunteers to achieve our mission and meet the needs of our community.

Job Description
The Executive Director position is responsible for representing the District, conservation program and work plan development, organizational, personnel, and fiscal management, and board development and support. The Executive Director reports to the seven-member elected Board of Directors and is directly supervised by the Board Chair.
Responsibilities:
This position involves occasional travel to the offices of partner organizations and agencies. Attendance at evening meetings, weekend events, and occasional overnight travel to attend conferences and training is required.

Compensation and Benefits
The Executive Director position salary range is $85,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience. This position is full time, exempt, and works from our office located in Corvallis. Hybrid telework option is available.
Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance with District contribution of 100% of employee premium, Short Term Disability Insurance, Life/AD&D Insurance, Oregon paid sick leave, Employee Assistance Program, District 457 Retirement Program, and paid time off (24.375 days per year).
