We are seeking a skilled ETL Developer to join our Decision Support and BI team. The ETL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to support our data integration and transformation needs. Additionally, you will also develop reusable analytics products to improve workflow for analytics teams. This role works closely with the data architect, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that data integrates seamlessly into the enterprise data warehouse, maintaining its quality and integrity for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence purposesOn a practical level, you will
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines, leveraging tools such as SQL, Python, and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, BI Specialists, and Analytic Consultants to create and optimize data models, ensuring integration with clinical and corporate systems (e.g., Oracle Health, Oracle HR)
- Assist with the development of strategic reports and analytics solutions and products
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and ETL job failures. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and escalate issues as necessary
- Optimize database queries and ETL processes to improve performance and reduce processing time
- Document all components of work – ETL jobs, FM packages, SQL scripts, etc.
- Participate in data quality remediation
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in computer science or a related discipline
- Knowledge of programming technology – Java, Python, R
- Knowledge of basic UNIX commands, and scripting languages e.g. perl
- Experience with relational databases; DB2, ORACLE, SQL Server
- In-depth experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) and database design
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) for building and maintaining data solutions
- Experience with health-care information systems such as Oracle Health, Meditech, or Epic used for managing and reporting clinical and corporate data is preferred
- The equivalent of two years hands-on experience
Skills required
- Good problem solving, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to interact with Decision Support and hospital staff, outside vendors and consultants as necessary
- Ability to implement design improvements
