The Estimating Co-op Student will be responsible for providing Estimating services to support the Estimating department. They will provide and coordinate full estimating services on a variety of projects from smaller projects to large, complex work, including various types of contracts. This includes the preparation of contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines. The Estimating Co-op Student will work on Conceptual Budgets, Design-Build Proposals and Hard Estimates, including quantity takeoffs, unit pricing, and sub-contractor pricing. They will be part of the tender call and review of Supplier/Sub-Contractor quotes and awards. This will be an 8-month work term starting January 2025.Reporting to: Chief EstimatorDuties & Responsibilities:Maintain Sub-Contractors/Supplier relations;Maintain unit price and productivity knowledge and databaseComplete accurate and complete estimatesTake part in Client meetingsConfer with Engineers, Architects and Owners on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and assist in the preparation of studies, materials methods, recommendations and costs estimates as requiredAssist in the preparation of proposals and estimates for the Managers final approval prior to their presentation to potential Clients at bid closingTake part in Project Team meetingsMaintain Career Progression planAttend training courses as required by team leaderAbility to perform basic internet and Intranet functionsMaintain and upgrade estimating software as requiredOther duties and responsibilities as requiredSkills & Knowledge:Ability to manage multiple workflows and tasks concurrently;Ability to prioritize workflows;Ability to manage deadlines for completion of assigned tasks;Comfortable working in a team environment;
