Not only are we One of Canada’s Best Employers, we are one of Canada’s Greenest Employers.Your opportunity:You will take a critical role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the campus by coordinating the removal of chemical, radiological and biological materials. Maintaining a hazardous materials classification record and inventory, updating waste manifests, monitoring and assessing consultant and contractor performance, checking that work performed meets expected standards are some of the key responsibilities. You will also act as a resource, providing advice to various stakeholders on emergency response processes and preparedness. As a subject matter specialist, you will be monitoring, assessing, analyzing and interpreting contamination levels. You are passionate that health and safety/security regulations are being followed, and when necessary, reporting, recording and referring issues for resolution. You will have regular interaction with a wide variety of university stakeholders and be will key in facilitating collaboration between staff and emergency response teams.Your responsibilities will include:

USW Pay Band 11 — $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
