EV Battery Solutions, part of Cox Automotive, is at the forefront of automotive battery circularity, providing logistics, storage, diagnostics, repair, and remanufacturing services.We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities in Europe.About the Role:As the EHS Specialist, you will drive strategies that ensure compliance and embed best practices. Your focus will be on safety program implementation, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance while fostering a safety-first culture.Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Management: Maintain and continually improve EHS policies and programs to meet regulatory requirements and company-specific safety standards.
- Legislative Updates: Stay ahead of evolving legislation and provide timely updates to leadership with recommendations for compliance and improvement.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all permitting and testing are in place, liaising with external bodies as required.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify potential risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents and injuries, ensuring accurate reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Training Delivery: Deliver training sessions for employees and leadership on hazard identification, accident prevention, and compliance programs.
- Documentation Management: Maintain documentation and records, including regulatory submissions and compliance reporting.
- Customer Support: Provide EHS information to support customer requests in consultation with the sales and operations teams.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory events.
- Safety Goals: Collaborate with leadership to set safety goals and track progress using reports and communication materials.
- Community Engagement: Participate in community safety groups and committees, representing the company in safety-related initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a related field. IOSH & NEBOSH level 5 or 6 qualified.
- Experience: Proven industry experience within EHS roles, particularly in regulated and compliance-focused environments. Experience in the EV Battery environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of current UK & EU legislation, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, EU directives, and standards.
