Job Description
We’re recruiting for an Environment Analyst to join us. Working within the environment team, in our Group Property and Workplace department, you will shape and help drive our environmental initiatives and strategy across the Group. Focusing primarily on energy management and our net zero targets. As well as collating and validating environmental data across the Group, this role will have a day to day focus on the implementation and management of our environmental management system for our occupied offices. The role will require liaison across the L&G Group and with our key supply chain partners (e.g. our facilities management provider).
What you’ll be doing:
- Collation and processing of environmental data from within Group Property & Workplaces, as well as from across the L&G Group and support the preparation and delivery of key environmental reporting requirements
- Continued development and implementation of our ISO14001 accredited environmental management system, to ensure compliance with the standard, regulations and best practice
- Provision of advice to the facilities management teams across our portfolio on a wide range of environmental topics focusing on energy management
- Undertake ongoing monitoring of the achievement of our commitments and targets and collate data and develop reports to provide regular updates on level of achievement
- Assist through various communication tools (e.g. hub, local news letters and forums) with the successful engagement and communication of our key environmental initiatives with our colleagues.
- Provide direction and support to guide our location environmental committees and CARE teams in focusing their activities, and documenting a clear linkage between activities and our Group environment commitments
- Monitor regulatory developments as they apply to the built environment with an assessment of implications for the department and Group
- Researching and learning about new technologies related to energy management, water management, waste management and nature & biodiversity and their implementation to deliver on operational environmental targets
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Holistic knowledge of environmental management with a focus on energy efficiency, energy management, energy/carbon compliance requirements and current trends for the decarbonisation of the built environment
- A relevant Environmental Degree and/or equivalent experience
- Ability to conduct data-driven environmental analysis, research and management
- Knowledge and awareness of general environmental topics relating specifically to the built environment, sustainability reporting and certification, landlord engagement, ISO14001 & ISO50001
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulation, certifications, and the wider sustainability agenda
